Gode Wind OWF: Safety Supplier Day 2015

  • Print

On 5 May 2015, A2SEA and CT Offshore had invited all subcontractors on the upcoming project Gode Wind OWF to participate in a Safety Supplier Day.

The purpose of the day was to inform all subcontractors of the expectations in relation to safety on the work that will take place in relation to the mobilisation on Gode Wind both for CT Offshore on the cable side and for A2SEA on the turbines.

The key points from the day were
– Safety does not happen by chance, safety has to be managed
– We must NEVER compromise safety
– We want everybody to return home in the same condition as when they went to work.

DONG Energy’s Programme Director on the Gode Wind OWF project Jan Thomsen explained their expectations to the safety performance and said that “We must NEVER compromise safety. It is simply a no go“.

Safety Charter signed
At the end of the day, all participants signed a Safety Charter agreeing that safety has the highest priority on the Gode Wind project.

CT Offshore’s vessel SIA starts installation and burial of the 97 cables in Gode Wind in the beginning of June and A2SEA’s SEA CHALLENGER starts the turbine installation in the beginning of August. Until then, intense activity will take place on the quay side of the harbour in Esbjerg where the mobilisations will take place.
